Use this free google ranking tool to allow your visitors to check their own website's or anyone else's rank in google. Once the visitor checks their website position they might consider doing some search engine optimization to increase their rank or hire your company if you offer search engine optimization services. This tool was written in php and was designed small so it won't take up much space on your website page and it is very simple to install. The colors and font size are customizable along with a few other things so you can suit it to your own website.

If you plan to use this tool on your site then you will need a Google API key as this program abides by the Google Terms Of Service. Note that as this tool uses the API to query the google database results on the position can be different than doing an actual query on google.com itself. A version that does not use the API and will provide exact rankings may be released soon but use it at your own risk as it does not abide by the Google TOS.

Note that this whole webpage does not have to refresh once the user clicks submit this is thanks to use of an iframe. Here's how to install it:

1. Download the google rank box zip and unzip the files to the same folder as the web page you want to display it on.

2. Add this line to your web page <? include("google-rank-box.php"); ?> in the area where you want the box to appear.

3. Edit the file 'settings.php' by opening it with notepad or something. In this file you have to add your google api key otherwise the tool will not work. You should see the line:
$google_api_key = "";
Just add your api key inbetween the quotes. You will see all the other settings for the google rank box in there also where you can change the colors and fonts etc.
